Bank of Ghana (BoG) is the central bank of Ghana, headquartered in Accra and established in 1957. The bank actively develops financial inclusion policies and is a member of the Financial Inclusion Alliance.
The history of the Central Bank of Ghana can be traced back to the Gold Coast Bank or the Commercial Bank of Ghana. The first president was Mr. Alfred Egliston, the former managing director of BGC and a successful Scottish banker.
