Alexander Katveli Batumi International Airport (Batumi International Airport) is an airport located 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) south of Batumi in the Autonomous Republic of Georgia. The airport is 20 kilometers (12 miles) northeast of Khoba, Turkey, and serves Georgia and northeastern Turkey.
Batumi International Airport is one of the three international airports in Georgia. The new airport terminal was put into operation on May 26, 2007, with a total area of 4,256 square meters (45,810 square feet), and can handle 600,000 passengers per year.
Since Batumi International Airport was renovated by TAV Airport Holdings in 2007, the number of passengers has increased significantly. In 2011, the airport handled a total of 134,000 passengers, an increase of 51% over the previous year.
