Air China Malaysia is a subsidiary of Air China in Malaysia.
In January 2001, 10 former Chinese civil aviation airlines reached an agreement on the merger plan, according to which Air China will acquire China Southwest Airlines. Before the acquisition, Air China was the fourth largest domestic airline in China. The combined company has 56 billion yuan ($8.63 billion) in assets and 118 aircraft. In October 2002, Air China merged with China Airlines and China Southwest Airlines.
