Bank of Malaysia

AmBank is the fifth largest bank in Malaysia. It has more than 200 branches and outlets (including affiliates and associated companies), and it provides a series of financial services and products for individuals and enterprises.

Bank of Malaysia was formerly known as the Arab-Malaysian Development Bank, which was established in 1975. It was listed on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange in 1981. Bank chairman Tan Sri Azman Hashim controls about a third of Arma Securities Holdings.

The Malaysian Bank Group began operations on April 1, 1976, including Arab and Malaysian shareholders. In 1977, it acquired 70.0% of the Malaysian Industrial Finance Co., Ltd., which was later renamed Arab Malaysia Finance Co., Ltd.

In 2006, after Tan Sri Azman Hashem sold 3 million shares to ANZ Banking Group, the shares of Tan Sri Azman Hashem were reduced from 32.9% to 18.8%. Bank of Malaysia was established in 1975 with the founder and executive chairman Tan Sri Azman Hashim, headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
