On November 29, 2016, Eversheds announced that it is in late-stage merger talks with Sutherland Asbill & Brennan in the United States. This merger will place the company in the 39th position in global revenue and push Eversheds into the top ten of the top ten law firms in the UK.
On December 16, 2016, Eversheds announced the approval of the merger. The new company will operate under the name Eversheds Sutherland from February 1, 2017.
In 2017, Sweden’s Eversheds merged with Northlaw Advisors. After that, An Rui Shundelun opened offices in Dusseldorf, Luxembourg, Moscow and St. Petersburg.
