Crédit Populaire d’Algérie is a commercial bank in Algeria. The bank was established in 1966 with an initial capital of 15 million dinars.
In 1985, the People’s Credit Bank of Algeria had 40 local banking institutions, 550 employees and managers, and 89,000 customer accounts. The Algerian Constitution defines the bank as a universal bank, and its mission is to promote the development of Algeria’s health, medicine, trade, distribution, hotel industry, tourism, media, SMEs/small and medium industries, handicrafts and other fields.
According to the regulations in force in Algeria, the People’s Credit Bank of Algeria has functions such as issuing credit and processing transactions and deposits. On April 7, 1997, the Algerian Monetary and Credit Commission approved the bank to become the second bank approved to have money and credit services.
