Bulgarian Air Charter was established in 2000 and began operations on December 14, 2000. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bulgarian Air Services Group. The airline mainly operates flights to tourist destinations in Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Israel and Poland. Since its establishment, the company has transported more than 3.5 million passengers. The company currently has 330 employees.
At first, Bulgarian Air Charter used 5 Tupolev Tu-154S aircraft to operate. In 2004, the company used 7 McDonnell Douglas MD-80 aircraft to replace these Polevtu-154S aircraft. By 2011, the number of aircraft in the fleet had grown to 12 MD-80 aircraft. In September 2015, the company received its first Airbus A320-200 aircraft.
