Palfinger

Palfinger is an Austrian manufacturer of hydraulic lifting, loading and unloading systems, especially cranes.

Palfinger has 150 models and a market share of 35%, making it a global market leader. The group is composed of 84 companies in 32 countries/regions, with 33 manufacturing and assembly bases, and 5,000 sales and service outlets in more than 130 countries /regions on all continents.

Palfinger’s history can be traced back to 1932, when Richard Palfinger established an agricultural trailer, dump truck and body repair shop. The company built the first crane in 1959, and his son Hubert specialized in hydraulic loading cranes in 1964. In 1989, Palfinger exported 90% of its products to more than 70 countries.

Palfinger went public in 1999. In the past 20 years, the company has focused on diversification and internationalization. In June 2018, Andreas Klauser took over as CEO.

About 56.6% of the Palfinger Group’s shares are held by the Palfinger family, 7.5% of the shares are held by Sany Heavy Industries, and about 35.9% of the shares are diversified shares. Since June 1999, Palfinger has been listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange. Since mid-June 2000, Palfinger shares have also been traded on the over-the-counter markets of the stock exchanges in Stuttgart, Berlin, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt.

Palfinger is the global market leader in loading cranes, timber cranes and recycling cranes, marine cranes, windmills, hook cranes and railway systems. The Group acquired the Harding Group, which operates globally in 2016, making it a leader in the global marine life-saving equipment market.
