The Arctic Fox was founded by Åke Nordin in 1960. The company was listed in Stockholm in 1983 and then listed on the OTC.
Since 2014, Arctic Fox has been a subsidiary of Fenix Outdoor International AG, which is listed on the Nasdaq OMX in Stockholm. The group owns Tierra, Primus, Hanwag, Brunton and Royal Robbins brands.
In 1996, Arctic fox sales were 133 million Swedish kronor (approximately US$20.3 million), of which 71% came from exports.
In 2012, Arctic Fox opened its first store in New York, USA. The company occupies a huge market in the Nordic countries. As of 2017, Arctic fox products are sold in more than 40 countries/regions.
