LATAM Ecuador (LATAM Ecuador), formerly known as LAN Ecuador (Aerolane Líneas Aéreas Nacionales del Ecuador SA), is an Ecuadorian airline and a subsidiary of LATAM Airlines, headquartered in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Airlines mainly lease aircraft to operate scheduled passenger services.
LATAM Ecuador was established as LAN Ecuador in July 2002 and began operations on April 28, 2003. It is jointly controlled by Translloyd (55%) and LAN Airlines (45%). On December 24, 2008, Ecuador’s LATAM was approved to start domestic operations. It received Airbus A318 aircraft in March 2009. LATAM Airlines announced the acquisition of 26 Boeing 787 aircraft from LATAM Chile, LATAM Peru, LATAM Argentina and LATAM Ecuador.
LATAM Ecuador was established in 2002. The main hub is Marshal Sucre International Airport, with 12 aircraft and 11 destinations. The parent company is LATAM Aviation Group, the chairman is Xavier Rivera, and the CEO is Jorge Day Grams.
