Energy Commission (Malaysia), ST is an agency established under the Malaysian Energy Commission Act 2001 to regulate the energy industry in Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah. The agency is mainly responsible for the development of Malaysia’s energy industry.
The Malaysian Energy Commission formulates and promotes the legal scope of power and gas supply, namely the Electricity Supply Act of 1990, the Authorized Water Supply Dispatching Act of 1990, the Natural Gas Supply Act of 1993, the Electricity Supervision Act of 1994 and the Natural Gas Supply Regulation Act of 1997.
