The National Institute of Seismology, Volcanoes, Meteorology and Hydrology of Guatemala (Instituto Nacional de Sismología, Vulcanología, Meteorología e Hidrología, INSIVIMEH) is a scientific institution of the Guatemalan government. The main purpose of the agency is to study and monitor the atmosphere, geophysical and hydrological phenomena and events, prevent natural disasters, and make recommendations to the government and the private sector when natural disasters occur.
