The Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) was founded in 1963 and was recognized by the International Committee of the Red Cross in 1964. In the same year, it was affiliated with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
Over the years, the Nepal Red Cross has developed into the largest humanitarian organization in Nepal, with activities covering 75 counties across Nepal. Part of the activities of the Nepal Red Cross is attended by students from schools, campuses and community organizations and young volunteers from the Nepalese Youth and Youth Red Cross Circle.
The headquarters of the Nepal Red Cross is located in Kathmandu, and its chairman is Mr. Sanjiv Kumar Thapa.
