The Calcutta Stock Exchange (Calcutta Stock Exchange) is the oldest stock exchange in South Asia. The exchange is headquartered in Lyons Range, Kolkata, India. It was established in 1908 and is the second largest exchange in India.
The earliest record of Indian securities transactions is the loan securities of the British East India Company. In 1908, the stock exchange was established and has 150 members. The Kolkata Stock Exchange was established under the authorization of the Indian government on April 14, 1980 in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Indian Securities Contracts (Supervision) Act of 1956.
The Kolkata Stock Exchange followed the familiar bidding method in stock trading. It was not until 1997 that it was replaced by the C-STAR called an electronic (online trading) system. The Bombay Stock Exchange owns 5% of its shares.
