Sasayama is a city in eastern Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. Hyundai Sasayama City was established on April 1, 1999. It merged with Shinohara Town and absorbed Konka, Nishiki and Dannan Towns (all from Taki District).
As of April 30, 2011, Sasayama City had an estimated population of 44,717, 16,702 households, a population density of 118.42 people per square kilometer, and a total land area of 377.61 square kilometers.
Sasayama City has five railway stations: Kusano Station-Gudu Station-Nanbajo Station-Sasayamaguchi Station-Tamba Oyama Station.
Sasayama is famous for agricultural and food products in the Kansai region, including: Japanese yam, chestnut Japan, adzuki bean, matsutake, beef, wild boar and venison.
