The company’s thermal power plants are located in Kolagart, Bakreswar, Sagardighi, Santaldih and Bandel.

Kolagart Power Plant with a total installed capacity of 1,260 megawatts (MW6x210).
The total installed capacity of Bakreswar Power Plant is 1050 MW (MW5x210).
The total installed capacity of the Sagardighi Power Plant is 600 MW (2 x 3 million kilowatts), and the installation of 2 x 500 MW units is in progress.
The Bandel Thermal Power Plant has a total installed capacity of 4.5 million kilowatts (4×60, 1×210 MW), and modernization of 210 MW units is underway.
The total installed capacity of Santaldih Power Plant is 500 MW (2 x 2.5 million kilowatts).
The West Bengal State Power Development Corporation is headquartered in Bidangarh, Kolkata, and its chairman and general manager is Shri Santanu Basu. The turnover from 2007 to 2008 was 27.28 billion rupees.
