Bank Otsar Ha-Hayal is an Israeli bank. Literally means ‘Bank of the Soldier Treasury’. The bank was established in 1946 and initially provided deposit services for veterans. It was not until 1972 that it became a business partner of the Israel Defense Forces.
In 1972, Bank Otsar Ha-Hayal officially became a bank open to the public, and it still largely maintains its military assets. Israel Workers Bank acquired the bank in 1977. By 1996, it was completely transformed into a public commercial bank.
On January 24, 2006, Hapoalim Bank sold 66% of Bank Otsar Ha-Hayal at a price of 703 million NIS.
