Jetconnect is an airline headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand. The airline is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Qantas. The company was established in July 2002 and began operations in October 2002. It mainly operates trans-Tasman services between New Zealand and Australia under the Qantas brand.
Jetconnect also operated housekeeping services in New Zealand until June 10, 2009, when these services were taken over by Jetstar Airways. Its main base is Auckland Airport. Jetconnect uses Qantas long-distance flight attendants on long-distance routes on Australian trunk routes. From the first half of 2014, the company began operating short-haul flights.
As of November 2013, Jetconnect operates flights from Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington to other parts of Australia. Currently, the airline operates the following flights:
From Auckland to Brisbane (twice a day) to
Melbourne (3 times a day) and
Sydney (5 times a day)
From Wellington, Melbourne (daily) to Sydney (twice a day)
From Christchurch to Sydney (daily)
Jetconnect’s operating bases are Auckland International Airport and Wellington International Airport, with a total of 8 aircraft. The company slogan is ‘Australian Spirit’. The parent company is Qantas, and the Qantas Group CEO is Alan Joyce.
