The Kentish Hotel is a bistro located in Waiuku, New Zealand. Since obtaining a permit to sell liquor for the first time in 1853, the Kent Hotel has stood the test of time and has become one of the most famous hotels in the Franklin area.
The Kent Hotel was built by Edward Constable in 1851, and Edward Constable moved here from Maidstone, Kent, England. After that, Edward Constable applied to the Secretary of the New Zealand Colony for a special public permit, and obtained permit No. 47 on January 10, 1853.
