The University of Lausanne was established as a Swiss theological school in 1537 and became a Swiss public university in 1890. The university has a wide range of courses, and it develops exchange programs with world-renowned universities.
Since 2005, the University of Lausanne has followed the Bologna process requirements. In 2011, it was ranked 116th in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
