Breguet (Breguet) is a Swiss luxury watch manufacturer. It was founded by Abraham-Louis Bao in Paris, France in 1775. Currently, it is a company of the Swatch Group. Its brand watches have been produced in the Swiss Jura Valley since 1976.
Breguet is a long-standing surviving watch manufacturing site and pioneer of many watchmaking techniques. Most notably, Abraham-Louis Breguet first invented the tourbillon. It produced the world’s first wristwatch in 1810.
Breguet’s business continued to grow and expand. Around 1807, Abraham-Louis Breguet’s son Louis Antoine became a partner of the company, and the company was called Breguet et al. After the death of Abraham-Louis Breguet in 1823, the company was run by his son Louis-Antoine.
After Louis-Antoine retired in 1833 (died in 1858), Abraham-Louis grandson Louis Clemente Francois (1804-1883) continued to run the family company.
