Sulzer Limited (Sulzer) is a Swiss industrial engineering and manufacturing company founded by Salomon Sulzer-Bernet in 1775. Today, it is a public company with international subsidiaries and its shares are listed on the Swiss Stock Exchange.
Sulzer’s core strengths are flow control and applicator. The company focuses on pumping solutions and services for rotating equipment, as well as separation, mixing and application technologies.
The Sulzer brothers helped develop the shuttleless weaving, whose core business is manufacturing looms. Rudolf Diesel worked at Sulzer in 1879 and purchased certain patents for diesel engines in 1893. Sulzer built the first diesel engine in 1898.
Sulzer is divided into four divisions:
Pump equipment: Pump technology and solutions (production of centrifugal pumps and agitators/agitators for the oil and gas, hydrocarbon, paper, power generation, water, food, metal and fertilizer industries )
Rotary equipment service: service and repair solutions for rotating equipment, such as turbines, pumps, compressors, motors and generators.
Chemical technology: separation columns and static mixing components and service
applicator systems (new department in 2017): liquid applications Systems (mixing and dispensing systems for the adhesive and dental markets, mascara production, one-component and two-component application systems for the healthcare market)
