Martinair is a Dutch cargo airline with its headquarters and base at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. It is a subsidiary of Air France-KLM Group.
Since 2011, Dutch Martin Air operates exclusively as a cargo airline. Airlines provide scheduled flights and additional charter services to more than 50 destinations around the world. Before 2011, it also operated passenger flights.
Dutch Martin Air was established as Martin’s Air by Martin Schroeder and John Block on May 24, 1958. At first, the company had only one De Havilland Pigeon aircraft and 5 employees. In 1963, Mr. Schroeder will sell 49% of the company’s shares to 4 shareholders (12.25% each). Later, KLM acquired a 50+% stake in Mr. Schroeder and became a wholly-owned holding company. The company changed its name to its current name in 1966.
