Wielton is a Polish manufacturer of traction dump trucks and side curtains. It is the third largest semi-trailer manufacturer in Europe and a market leader in Central and Eastern Europe, as well as several countries in Central Asia.
Wilton was founded during the democratic transition in Poland. In the first few years, the main business goal of the company was to meet the growing demand for multi-purpose vehicles. In 1996, the company reorganized and started its production line. Ten years later, it was listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Since 2012, Wilton has operated a second assembly plant in Russia to serve the markets of the Commonwealth countries.
Between 2014 and 2017, Wilton acquired competitor Italiana Rimorchi, including Italy’s Cardi, Merker and Viberti brands, France’s Fruehauf and Germany’s Langendorf. In Ivory Coast, the company builds assembly plants for the entire West African Economic Community.
Wilton is headquartered in Wiron, Poland. Its president is Mariusz Golec, with revenues of 146 million euros and a total of 2,637 employees.
