Prince Arthur Hotel is a hotel located in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. At first, this hotel was built by the Canadian Northern Railway Company, and it was not operated as a CN hotel until 1955.

In 1908, John James Carrick, Sir William MacKenzie, and Sir Donald Mann were playing poker in their private car when they went to Winnipeg. In the wee hours of the morning, John James Carrick told the other two people that Port Arthur needed a hotel. In the referendum held at the end of April 1909, the citizens of Port Arthur agreed to transfer city land to CNR and build a magnificent new hotel.

In 1910, the Toronto Empire Construction Company served as the general contractor. They delegate work to local businessmen and purchase materials locally. This six-story hotel is almost entirely made of concrete and marble, including walls, ceilings and floors, with almost no wood to ensure fire protection. Commissioned artwork is hung throughout the hotel, and commissioned murals are painted on the rotunda. The total cost of hotel construction is 850,000 US dollars.

Prince Arthur Hotel provides first-class accommodation. A regular room costs US$1.50 to US$2.00 per day. If you want to take a bath, you will be charged US$2.00 to 3.00. The bathroom floor is made of the same marble as the rotunda. Each bedroom is twenty feet long. Many guests arrive by train and boat and enter the hotel through the hotel’s famous formal garden, which was designed by landscape artist HF Boyce in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. In 1958, the garden was replaced by a parking lot.
