Acme Brick is an American manufacturer and distributor of brick and block related construction products. Founder George Bennett (October 6, 1852-July 3 to 1907) chartered the establishment of Acme Pressed Brick in Alton on April 17, 1891. In the middle of the 20th century, the company grew into the largest wholly-owned brick manufacturer in the United States. On August 1, 2000, it acquired Berkshire Hathaway.

In 1890, Acme Brick was founded at 113 Farm Road, 15 miles (24 kilometers) southwest of Weatherford in Pike County, Southwest Texas. In 1916, its shareholders elected new personnel, continued business, and dissolved the Illinois subsidiary. Walter R. Bennett (the son of George E. Bennett) was elected as the first president of Acme Brick.

In 1968, Acme Brick and Justin Boot merged to become the first value company. In 1976, Featherlite (then known as Kingstip-Featherlite) was acquired by it. Featherlite is a privately held company established in Texas in 1949. Featherlite acquired a concrete block business in 1953 and has continued its expansion for many years-now operating 7 production equipment plants and 2 cement bagging plants in Texas and 3 other locations.

In 1994, American tile supplier, tile distributor and retailer were acquired by Acme Brick in Texas. In 1997, it acquired a manufacturer and developer of basic innovative building products in Fort Worth, which produces glass block windows, skylights, shower rooms and floor mortar-free installation systems.

In mid-2001, Acme Brick’s shipments broke the company’s record-the company produced more than 1 billion bricks in shipments. On October 6, 2006 (October 6 is also the birthday of its founder George Bennett), ground on the new headquarters building, which will be built in Southwest Fort Worth. It has an area of ​​77,000 square feet (7200 square meters) and has three floors. The building was completed in 2007.
