Cubana de Aviación is the national airline of Cuba and the largest airline in Cuba. It was established in October 1929 and became one of the earliest airlines in Latin America. Its headquarters are in Havana, and its main base is at Jose Marti International Airport.
Cubana Airlines is a subsidiary of Pan American World Airlines and later owned by a private company owned by Cuban investors. Since May 1959, it has been fully owned by the Cuban government and celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2009. The airline is a member of the International Air Transport Association, the International Association of Aeronautical Telecommunications and the International Association of Latin American Air Transport.
Cuban Airlines was established as Companía Nacional Cubana de Aviación Curtiss SA on October 8, 1929. At first, it was just a flight school and charter carrier, and in 1930 it provided scheduled flight services.
The name of Cuban Airlines indicates that it is associated with Curtis Aircraft Manufacturing Company. In the early days, its fleet used: Curtis Robin, Amphibious Sikorsky S-38, Ford Trimotor and Lockheed Electra (L-10) aircraft.
The main hub of Pakistan Airlines is Se Marti International Airport; key cities include: Antonio Maceo Airport, Juan Gomez; there are 19 aircrafts, 20 destinations, and the company’s slogan is ‘Cuba is leading to the world Door’, headquartered in Havana, CEO Arturo Alvarez Bada.
