Meike Healthcare was established as National Pharmacies in 1983. In 1984, National Pharmacies changed its name to Medco Containment Services, LLC after its IPO. In 1993, the company was acquired by Merck Pharmaceuticals and was renamed Merck Meike. In August 2003, it became an independent company. In April 2012, it was acquired by Express Scripts.
